INSTALLATION
It is the dealer/installer responsibility to make all minor touch ups and adjustments to doors, drawer fronts, drawers, roll-out trays, and shelves that are part of the normal installation process of cabinetry. Omega provides you with kitchen installation instructions and a touch up kit with orders of 5 or more kitchen cabinets. We recommend that all doors and drawers be removed from the cabinetry and reinstalled once installation of the cabinetry is complete.
HUMIDIFICATION
Omega manufactures products within an environment where moisture content is controlled between 6-8% relative
humidity. Omega recommends product be stored and installed in a temperate atmosphere where the humidity level and temperature are controlled. Humidity should be monitored via use of a digital hygrometer and should be maintained at levels between 30%- 50%.
Excessive variations in humidity will cause noticeable changes which may include, but are not limited to: white lining of panels, excessive gaps or overlapping of doors, warping, open joints, or paint cracking/lifting.
Omega’s Lifetime Limited Warranty does not apply if product is exposed to extremes in temperature or humidity.
WARPED DOORS
Doors for our cabinetry are manufactured at Omega under strict tolerances and in a moisture-controlled environment. Warpage of doors is a rare occurrence. Doors that appear warped must hang through a complete heating and cooling cycle, and be warped a minimum of 1/4" on any side before replacement will be considered. The only method of determining if a door is warped is to remove the door from the cabinet, lay it on a flat surface and alternately press on the corners to see if any corner extends above the surface more than 1/4".
Using the three adjustable screws for six way adjustment within the hinge itself are ideal to make the door sit plumb to the frame of the cabinet. To move the position of the door left/right, adjust the screw closest to the hinged edge of the door.
To move the position of the door in/out from the frame of the cabinet, adjust the screw furthest from the hinged edge of the door. If an adjustment is needed to move the position of the door up/down, adjust the screw that attaches the hinge to the cabinet frame. Inset overlay cabinetry door adjustment is slightly different when adjusting the up/down position of the door due to the hinging used will not wrap around the frame of the cabinet.
Inset overlay cabinetry hinging will use a mounting plate and adjustment of the door position up/down is accomplished by adjusting the screw on the bottom right of the mounting plate holding the hinge to the door.
If the doors have hung through a complete heating and cooling cycle, and the cabinets are true and plumb, contact Omega to order replacements.
CABINET CARE & CLEANING
Omega Cabinetry is hand-crafted from the finest select hardwoods. Due to the nature of real wood and the finish process used to protect it, care must be taken to ensure their durability for a lifetime. Our fine furniture grade finish is very durable and moisture resistant, but it is not moisture-proof. Use the following guidelines to assist you in maintaining the beauty of your Omega Cabinetry:
When the installation is complete, vacuum and wipe down all interiors and exteriors with a dampened cloth to remove all dust. Pay particular attention to the drawer glides. Dust and wood particles should not be allowed to remain on the drawer glides.
The fine furniture finish of your cabinetry is designed to withstand daily use. All wood surfaces may be cleaned with a dampened cloth and clear water. For a difficult situation, use a dampened cloth with mild soapsuds (not detergent). Orange cleaner, sold in our accessories section, is our recommended cleaning solution. Please note that all orange clean-ing products are not equal. Do not use harsh chemicals or ammonia base products as they may cause discoloration of the finish.
It is important to wipe up spills from your cabinetry when they occur. Give special attention to product around the sink and dishwasher. Avoid draping damp or wet dish towels over the door of the sink base cabinet. Prolonged exposure to spills, including: food, oil, grease, water, coffee, tea, food colorings, and/or other liquids may cause permanent discoloration or damage to the finish. Omega’s Lifetime Limited Warranty does not apply in cases where product has been exposed to the above elements thus resulting in damage to the product.
The finish applied to your cabinetry does not require or need any special care. However, on stained wood cabinets (not opaque paints), you may apply a light coat of wood paste wax (IE: Johnson’s) by following the manufacturers instructions.
NOTE: Do not use detergents, bleach, soap pads, steel wool, paper towels, or other harsh abrasive material on your cabinetry. Please avoid the use of silicone and/or ammonia based cleaning agents. Orange cleaner, sold in our accessories section, is our recommended cleaning solution.
